Doctor Of Business Administration (DBA)

Offered By: International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM)

If you have a great desire to acquire a doctoral degree or if you hold an MBA or equivalent master’s degree, then you must consider the information below:

The Management Centre of International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Gombak, is proud to announce that the first batch of DBA (Doctor in Business Administration) students will be enrolled this June 2009. Currently, only part-time students are accepted into the DBA programme. InsyaAllah, the enrolment of full-time students will begin in a couple of years.

The DBA is a post-MBA (or equivalent post-master’s degree) programme that will prepare students to acquire useful advanced
theoretical knowledge and practical skills in business management. Ideally, the student applying for the DBA should have a good MBA degree plus 2 years’ work experience in management or related areas. However, applicants without the MBA but with equivalent master’s degrees will also be considered. Students graduating with the DBA are entitled to affix the title “Dr” in front of their names.

The DBA programme offered at IIUM is approved by the Ministry of Higher Education. The DBA programme will be of equal standards to the DBAs offered by the best business schools in USA, Europe and Australia. Additionally, the unique strength of the DBA programme of IIUM is that it incorporates Islamic perspectives. Hence, the student not only gains knowledge and skills equivalent to DBA programmes offered in USA and Europe, but additionally acquires knowledge of Islamic perspectives of business administration.

Operational Aspects
Part-time students will have to attend classes during the semester but only on weekends - on Sundays from 9.00 a.m. to 5.45 p.m.

Financials Aspects
Part-time students will have to incur costs of only RM11,200 on average per year, for each year of study. For those who need financial assistance, the Management Centre can recommend admitted students to local banks for loans.

Staffing
The best and most highly qualified staff members of IIUM’s Kulliyyah (Faculty) of Economics and Management Sciences will be the instructors of this DBA programme. Further, additional experts from other local and overseas institutions will be invited from time to time to address the DBA students.

Conclusion
This is your chance to receive a quality DBA degree with Islamic perspectives. Although the programme is demanding and challenging, the rewards will far outweigh the costs. Act now and contact Pn. Roselina or En. Mohd. Helmi at the Management Centre of International Islamic University Malaysia for further information.
