Nilai University

Al Muhanad Abdulbari Al-Kaladi, Qatar

Diploma in Electrical Engineering
I discovered Nilai UC through an agent in my country. I was impressed by the campus buildings and wide range of programmes offered. I feel comfortable studying here and intend to complete my studies entirely in Nilai UC. I think that my internationally recognised programme is challenging and lively. I have helpful lecturers and enjoy learning about circuits and how electricity moves. I like the campus atmosphere and the people here are open-minded.

The culture and system here have changed my life for the better. I am a whole new person because of this experience.

Angela Bergren, America

B.A. (Hons) Accounting & Finance (3+0)
My favourite lecturer taught us about communication skills and made every class funny and enjoyable. He was also around to help out whenever we had questions. As a student counselor through the Department of Student Affairs, I am involved in helping new students. I love meeting new students and getting to hear about where they are from and their experiences. The student support services, especially the International Office, has been very helpful whenever I have problems and check on me from time to time.

Nilai UC is a whirlwind experience of people, diversity and cultures that has changed my view on life forever.

Catherine Aoll, Kenya

Bachelor of Business in Accounting
I found a home away from home in Malaysia, and Nilai College gave me my home here. Through the effort of my lecturers and the help of the other students, I have managed to grow socially, mentally and had become more knowledge-wise. I have no doubts that my studies here in Malaysia will prove fruitful in the end. I know that I have to contribute too by making the best out of everything. Fortunately, this will not be difficult because the main aim of Nilai College is to bring out the best in me !

David Owino Tolo, Kenya

Bachelor of Business - Accounting & Management, La Trobe University Australia, Year 3

Studying in Malaysia and NIC has helped me hone my leadership skills. I have had the opportunity to be involved with various clubs and societies like the East African students Society, Nilai African Students Association, Omega Leo Club of Nilai College and currently International Students Society amongst others. Being an International college with more than 30 different countries has provided me with an invaluable experience in understanding other cultures, hence my horizon has been largely broadened and my learning experience greatly enriched. I am still learning but my most important lesson is “ we will appreciate each other more when we understand each other better.”

"The environment in Nilai College is very suitable for studying."I come from China to study in Nilai College. I enjoy my life here. The environment in Nilai College is very comfortable and suitable for studying. There are a lot of facilities for students-common rooms, a library, free internet access, computer labs and canteen. Whenever I face any difficulties, the international office is there to advise me. There are also qualified lecturers to assist us in every aspect-studies, social problems and so forth. I like studying here.(Explanatory notes : At Nilai, there are excellent sports and recreation facilities. They include tennis courts, a soccer field, a jogging track, outdoor basketball and volleyball courts and a multi-million ringgit air-conditioned indoor sports complex with badminton, basketball and volleyball courts. Moreover, there are numerous clubs and societies opened for students to enhance their leadership skills, enhance team spirit and develop entrepreneurial skills. Students are also given the choice of on and off campus student accommodation. If one chooses apartments or residential halls in the campus, they are priced reasonably. The apartment units come with Internet access points in every room allowing students to link up their personal computers to the outside world)

Joan Rahiman, Mauritius Island

B.A. (Hons) Accounting & Finance (3+0)
I preferred to study accounting and finance although there were also engineering and science courses here. I plan to complete my degree entirely in Nilai UC. The programme I am studying is challenging especially the group assignments which is something I have never done before. I am involved in the swimming club, Nilai African Students Association and athletic club. I am also a student counselor. Being involved in these extracurricular activities is challenging but I can also get to know more people.

I have learnt that the most important thing in a person’s life is respect for another person regardless of where one is from.

Khai Lynn, Myanmar

I found out about Nilai University College through its campus website. The course I am studying at Nilai UC is very challenging, interesting and lively. The topic of greatest interest to me is Engineering Management as the lecturers are experienced and I learn how to manage people. My lecturers are very approachable, dedicated and helpful too. I love this place and the staff are really nice. They are on time at their respective offi ces, which mean they respect their jobs. The students here are very friendly and helpful. I also enjoy the atmosphere of cultural diversity and learning about other cultures and traditions at Nilai UC. I definitely encourage my friends and relatives to study here. Mariam Chuma Kobelo, Tanzania

Diploma in Culinary Arts
Nilai UC is the place to be to pursue my higher education because of its pleasant environment, cultural mix and opportunities for me to learn more from others. The facilities that are most useful to me are the library and computer laboratories. In the library, I can get almost all books related to my fi eld of studies. The internet connection in the computer laboratory is very fast and this allows me to finish my assignments on time. Currently, I stay at the hall of residence on campus. I find the accommodation and living facilities quite convenient.

I have experienced a lot especially the cultural differences here upon arrival and learnt a lot from others. I now find myself an entirely new person and more helpful towards others.

Sadaque S. Ghaznavi, Bangladesh

BSc. (Hons) Computing, Oxford Brookes University (3+0)
I enjoyed the luscious green campus, friendly lecturers, excellent academic facilities, friends from over 40 countries and the abundance of extracurricular activities. But, most importantly, Nilai UC was my home away from home. Each and every life is precious and all current and upcoming students of Nilai UC should not let it go to waste.

The OBU Computing programme has taught me the skills needed for today’s IT industry. Furthermore, I learned about how to manage larger tasks and projects methodically, as experienced during my involvement with the numerous projects in the Computing programme.
