Rozman: Support Labuan International Swimming Championship to Boost Labuan Sports Tourism

Member Parliament of Labuan, YB Datuk Rozman Hj Isli said that Labuan Corporation will continue to support Labuan International Swimming Championship and hoped that the corporate sectors will give full support too in order to boost this event as part of sports tourism in Labuan.

He noted that this 2nd Labuan International Swimming Championship has attracted 15 teams and 260 swimmers from Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Indonesia, Labuan, Sabah, Sarawak and Brunei to Labuan International School TSI Swimming Pool on 4 & 5 November 2017.

“On behalf of Perbadanan Labuan, as one of the gold sponsors, I congratulate Persatuan Akuatik Labuan (PAL) for successfully organized this championship”.

Datuk Rozman was impressed with this international event and suggested that this event to be included in LABUAN EVENT 2018. He hoped that the Tourism Department of Labuan Corporation will jointly organise this event for next year.

  • Group 5 Boy age 8: Muhammad Dhuhaz (Ikan Bilis Swimming Club - KL) - 5 gold, 3 records.
  • Group 5 Girl age 8: Annabelle Frederic (Persatuan Renang Penampang - PREPS) - 5 Gold, 1 Silver, 3 records.
  • Group 4 Boy age10: Chong Cheng Samuel 黄崇城(PJMS Aquatic Swimming Club Sandakan), 9 Gold, 5 records.
  • Group 4 Girl age 9: Ni Putu Pande Lisa Primasari (Takahide Swimming Centre, Indonesia) 7 gold, 2 silver, 5 records.
  • Group 3 Boy age 12: Arhadin Prome (Sekolah Sukan Malaysia Sabah). 6 Gold, 4 records
  • Group 3 Girl age 12- lee wei Len 李苇苓 (Persatuan Akuatik Labuan) 4 Gold, 3 Silver, 1 Bronze, 2 records.
  • Group 2 Boy age 14: Galang Indra Suranto (Takahide Swimming Centre Indonesia) 4 Gold, 1 Silver, 2 Bronze, 2 records.
  • Group 2 Girl age 14: cheng ka man 郑嘉雯(Sekolah Sukan Malaysia Sabah) 3 Gold, 2 Silver, 3 records.
  • Group 1 Boy age 15: Bryan chin Bao yang 曾保扬(persatuan Akuatik labuan) 4 Gold, 1 Silver, 1 Bronze, 1 record.
  • Group 1 Girl age 15: ilyani shairah Mohamad (Persatuan Renang Penampang - PREPS) 5 Gold, 4 Silver, 2 records.

The host Persatuan Akuatik Labuan emerged as 2nd runner up overall champion with medal tally of 14 gold, 15 silver, 9 bronze; 1st runner up PJMS swimming club (Sandakan) of 18 gold, 11 silver, 10 bronze. Persatuan Renang Penampang as the overall champion with 22 gold; 29 silver, 15 bronze.
