With all the talk about the fourth industrial revolution, we know that there’s no denying that innovation is pushing forward and we are in for the ride whether we like it or not. Nanotechnology, 3D printing, cryptocurrencies, virtual assistants and more – are you ready for these technologies to be part of your everyday world or would you rather stick to a conventional career if you had the choice?
Interestingly, there’s a website called Will Robots Take My Job that will calculate the probability of a job being automated in the future.
So if you’re just beginning to explore your career options, it would be a great idea to make sure that the career you want still exists by the time you’re done with college or university.
It is said that the fields which will be least affected by automation are those where human qualities are essential, e.g. cookery, writing, tourism, design and medical care.
