Taylor's University offer various research-related postgraduate scholarships for students enrolled in their masters and doctoral programmes at Taylor’s University.
They believe, research can help shape the future. They want to support students involved with their postgraduate research programme financially so that they can become effective researchers that contribute to the needs of community.
Listed here are the types of postgraduate funding that Taylor’s University offers.
Taylor's Research Excellence Scholarship
Students interested in pursuing their Master’s / PhD’s studies at Taylor’s University in any of our postgraduate research programmes may apply for the Postgraduate Scholarship.
This award is offered to support research in all areas of studies in the University and to instill excellent values amongst postgraduate students academically and socially.
Award recipients are expected to devote their efforts to research and publishing articles as well as participating in University events and activities and getting engaged in various non-academic activities like community activism, charity work or educational services.
- Scheme A - PhD
- Entitlement
- 100% tuition fee waiver for a maximum of 36 months (full-time study)
- 100% thesis examination fee waiver
- Monthly stipend of RM 2,300
- Conference allowance of RM 3,000
*All the other fees are covered except for enrolment and visa-related fees
- Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s Degree with CGPA ? 3.33 and Master’s Degree (Coursework / Mixed mode) with CGPA ? 3.50 or by Research mode from any recognised local/foreign university
- An applicant with publication in Citation Indexed Journal (CIJ) will have an added advantage

- Entitlement - PHD
- 75% tuition fee waiver for a maximum of 36 months (full-time study)
- Monthly stipend of RM1,900
- 100% thesis examination fee waiver
- Entitlement - Master's
- 75% tuition fee waiver for a maximum of 24 months (full-time study)
- Monthly stipend of RM1,500
- 100% thesis examination fee waiver
*International Students - International Student Charge and first year International Student Annual Fee are waived for both PhD and Master’s

- Master’s Degree (Coursework/Mixed mode) with CGPA ? 3.50 or by Research mode from any recognised local/foreign university

- Up to 100% tuition fee waiver for a maximum of 24 months (Master’s) - 36 months (PhD) (full-time study)
- Only applicable when a potential candidate is accepted into a funded research project carried out at Taylor’s University

Up to 50% tuition fee waiver for a:
- Maximum of 24 months (Master’s) – 36 months (PhD) for full-time study; and
- Monthly stipend of RM1,900maximum of 36 months (Master’s) – 48 months (PhD) for part-time study
Applicable to:
- Industry professionals (non-academic profession) attached to organisations/ firms in service related to the field of study
- Academics who are attached to an educational institution
Potential candidates require recommendation from their organisation / firm / institution

Candidate must meet the admission requirements (academic and English language proficiency) for the relevant research degree.

Asean Tourism Scholarship
ASEAN Tourism Scholarship is open for application by nationals from ASEAN member countries, to pursue postgraduate research studies (Master’s / PhD on areas related/ relevant on ASEAN tourism. The research focus should be aligned to the ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan (ATSP) priorities.

- Entitlement - PhD
- 100% tuition fee waiver for a maximum of 36 months (full-time study)
- 100% thesis examination fee waiver
- Monthly stipend of RM 2,300
- Conference allowance of RM 3,000

General Eligibility
- Applicable to eligible local and international students commencing from January 2019 intake onwards. Should a student defer to the following year, scholarship offers may be revised to the prevailing scheme applicable at the new intake date.
- Student must have secured an Offer Letter of Admission from Taylor's University.
- This scholarship is applicable for study at Taylor's University in Malaysia only and is not applicable for the period of study at overseas partner universities.

Step 3: Submit the items mentioned in Step 2 with ALL relevant supporting documents and/or testimonials, including the first page of every publication (if applicable) to the Enrolment and Advisory Services – Postgraduate (EAS-PG).
Closing Dates
The scholarship application will be accepted throughout the year. However, there are deadlines for admission and scholarship application submissions.
If a student wishes to enroll into a programme prior to the approval of scholarship, the student requires to bear the fees for that particular semester. International students will need to take into consideration of visa application processing time of 8-12 weeks before intake commencement date.
