Course Overview

The objective of the postgraduate programme is to provide graduate students with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge through independent research in a selected branch of Biotechnology. This will enable graduates to be competent in handling basic and applied research in their chosen specialties.

Research and Thesis - Both programmes are research - based and are conducted by Department of Biotechnology (Faculty of Applied Science)

Assessment

Thesis Preparation - At the end of the course, students are required to prepare a thesis of their research work. The thesis will be evaluated by a panel of examiners and a vice-voce will be conducted.

Entry Requirements

Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Biotechnology or other related science, with :

  1. Minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent, as accepted by AIMST Senate, or
  2. Minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA of 2.75, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; or
  3. CGPA < 2.50, can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in relevant field.

International students need to have a TOEFL Min Score 550 or IELTS Min Score 6.0
