Course Overview

Our professional communication students will gain ample exposure to real-world practices with real-world practitioners within the field. Through meticulously designed projects, industrial training and frequent seminars by notable speakers, a holistic education is part of our students’ development.

The programme is designed to enhance student’s versatility on the knowledge and skill set required in the professional field of media and communication. Students will be exposed to industry practices and have hands-on experience of working with real-life industry pitches, projects, and assignments.

We aim to produce graduates who are industry ready, who can make a positive impact on any organisation as soon as they begin their chosen career.

Entry Requirements

Malaysian Students

  • STPM Grade C (GP 2.00) in any two (2) subjects
  • Diploma CGPA of 2.00/ Pass Diploma in Media and Communication
  • STAM Jayyid
  • UEC Grade B in five (5) subjects
  • Foundation/ Matriculation CGPA of 2.00
  • A-LEVEL Pass with Grade D in two subjects
  • Australian Matriculation ATAR 65
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB) 24 points across six subjects

Additional Requirements
*Credit in English at SPM, or its equivalent

NOTES
Specific requirements at SPM level can be waived should the grades obtained at the STPM / STAM / Diploma / Matriculation / Foundation are equivalent or higher.

International Students

  • Pass A-Level with 2 principal passes or equivalent, recognised by the Malaysian Government; AND
  • IELTS Band 5.0/ TOEFL 500

English Competency Requirements

All international students are bound to the English Competency requirement set by the University and the Malaysian Qualification Agency except those who are:

  • From countries where English is the official language; OR
  • From an academic institution which uses English as its main medium of instruction.

UWTSD Requirements (if you spend a semester abroad)

  • IELTS Band 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 for each component
