Diploma of Electronic Engineering

Course Overview

Electrical and Electronic Engineering shows you how a touch screen responds to your fingers, how your GPS knows exactly where you are on this planet and how electricity arrives at your doorstep with a flick of a switch from a power plant hundreds of kilometers away. Electrical and Electronic devices are everywhere, rapidly changing the way we live our lives. It is the leading sector in Malaysia’s industry. The programme will prepare you to be a competent engineer well equipped to meet the challenges of a very fast moving industry. Emphasis of the programme is on sustainable design, development and commercialisation of a wide range of electrical & electronic products and services. This includes consumer electronics, intelligent control systems, electrical energy, power systems and electrical machines.

Entry Requirements

1. SPM - 4 Credits in the relevant subjects
2. O Level - 4 Grade C in the relevant subjects
3. UEC - 4 Grade B in the relevant subjects
4. Certificate - Relevant Certificate accreditated by MQA OR
5. Relevant Skilled/Technical/Vocational Certificate recognised by the Malaysian Government

Compulsory subjects:

1. SPM Credit/ O Level Grade C in Mathematics/ UEC Grade B in Advanced Mathematics (I)
2. SPM Pass in Additional Mathematics AND Physics OR O Level Grade E (Pass) in Mathematics-Additional AND Physics OR UEC Grade C in Advanced Mathematics (II) AND Physics
3. SPM Credit/ O Level Grade C/ UEC Grade B in Physics/Chemistry/Biology
4. SPM Credit/ O Level Grade C/ UEC Grade B in English Language and Bahasa Melayu/Malay Language

Note:

1. SPM holders must have at least a pass in Bahasa Melayu and SPM holders from Year 2013 onwards must have at least a pass in Sejarah.
2. Students without a credit in SPM Bahasa Melayu are required to pass Bahasa Kebangsaan A before the award of Diploma.
3. Equivalent qualifications/qualifications from other Institution of Higher Learning (IHL) will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
