Institution Overview

Introduction

Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology is unique as it is the only campus in Malaysia offering aircraft maintenance technology programmes. In its effort to develop human capital for the aviation industry, UniKL MIAT begins with generating interest on the industry at the secondary school level. Activities such as aviation camps and students’ visits are organized to garner interest in the aviation field. It also participates in aircraft events organised by the industry. The environment for its graduates is especially designed for them to be ready to serve the industry. With world class infrastructure, highly trained and multi-skilled teaching personnel and a comprehensive training complying with technical standard and industry requirement, its graduates will be able to meet the demand of current and future aircraft maintenance industry.

Facilities

Facilities offered to students include:

• Labs for design & manufacturing using CAD / CAM Software and the CATIA Design Lab.
• 32 workshops of various trades
• Tools Store
• The library has two sections – the Main Library with general publications and books, and the Technical Library which houses information specifically on aircraft maintenance operations and manuals
• A huge three-section hangar that houses aircrafts from Cessna 150 to a private jet of HS 125 and large aircraft such as Boeing 727 and Boeing 737
