Study Malaysia Online is one of the most authoritative education websites in Malaysia. It was launched on 28th December 1998 by the then Minister of Education. It provides comprehensive information on various higher educational institutions (private colleges, private universities public universities and polytechnics), the courses they offer, education financing, updated news on education, significant individuals in the education industry as well as other valuable information on study opportunities for local and foreign students.
This chapter entails the various pre-university studies offered at private higher educational institutions (PHEIs) and internally-developed certificate/diploma-level programmes offered by PHEIs for upper secondary school leavers with SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia) qualifications.

International Students who desire to enter Malaysia to further their studies should look at this chapter which is filled with information on the necessary requirements for student visas and ways to obtain them. At present, there are over 500 higher educational institutions in Malaysia but only about 200 of these institutions are given permission to recruit international students.

No visa is required for U.S.A. citizens visiting Malaysia for social, business or academic purposes (except for employment). No visa is required for a stay of less than one month for nationals of all ASEAN countries except Myanmar. For a stay exceeding one month a visa will be required, except for nationals of Brunei and Singapore.
