Are you ready for the fourth industrial revolution? Are you prepared for the change or… horrors, will you need to turn into a robot to survive?
With all the talk about the fourth industrial revolution, we know that there’s no denying that innovation is pushing forward and we are in for the ride whether we like it or not. Nanotechnology, 3D printing, cryptocurrencies, virtual assistants and more – are you ready for these technologies to be part of your everyday world or would you rather stick to a conventional career if you had the choice?
Interestingly, there’s a website called Will Robots Take My Job that will calculate the probability of a job being automated in the future.
So if you’re just beginning to explore your career options, it would be a great idea to make sure that the career you want still exists by the time you’re done with college or university.
It is said that the fields which will be least affected by automation are those where human qualities are essential, e.g. cookery, writing, tourism, design and medical care. Other areas that are more resistant to change include: media and entertainment, consumer products, healthcare, energy, professional services, ICT, mobility, infrastructure, and financial/investor services.
Here’s a quick look at the jobs that are the most and the least likely to be automated in the future according to Will Robots Take My Job. Ideally, you’d want to choose a job with low automation risk and high projected growth. Of course, don’t forget that choosing a job that is a good match for your skills and personality will ensure greater job satisfaction and success.
