Course Description | If Mathematics and Physics are your strong suits, and you have a passion for the open sea career, this course is perfect for you. Diploma in Marine Engineering (DME) is specially designed to provide you with the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills to serve on board a merchant vessel of 750kW and above, near coastal and foreign going voyage, you will graduate as a certified watch keeping engineering officer. Upon completion of the course, students will have sufficient knowledge of the basic principles to be observed in keeping an engineering watch as per the Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) Regulation III/2 and III/1 in line the STCW 2010 and national requirements and will have sufficient knowledge, understanding and skill to carry out that part of duties and responsibilities concerned with the operation, maintenance and repair of:
This course will take a total of 3.5 years, spread over 7 semesters. Upon successful completion of the training and passing all the qualifying pre-requisites, you will be awarded with a Diploma in Marine Engineering and Certificate of Competency as Officer in Charge of Engineering Watch.
