Institution Overview

i-CATS University College, formerly known as Kolej Teknologi PPKS, is a premier institution of higher learning in Kuching, the capital city of the state of Sarawak in Malaysia. The college was established in 2002, with the aim of providing quality education to students in Sarawak and beyond.

i-CATS University College is located at Jalan Stampin Timur, Kuching, and offers a range of academic programs through its six faculties. These faculties include the Faculty of Agriculture and Applied Sciences, Faculty of Computing and Software Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Economics, Business and Accounting, Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality, and Faculty of Multidisciplinary and Sustainability Studies.

The institution prides itself on its team of more than 10 professors, including adjunct professors and associate professors. i-CATS University College offers a wide range of academic programs, including foundation, diploma, advanced diploma, bachelor's degree, and postgraduate courses, catering to the diverse needs and aspirations of students.

Accommodation

You can enjoy the most affordable rooms for rent to ease your stay with us throughout your stay in i-CATS.

The hostel is located within the campus so that you don’t have to worry about transportation to your daily classes. Special priority to rent is given to students who are from outside of Kuching.

We can accommodate up to 404 residents in our hostel at one time (204 vacancies for females and 200 vacancies for males).

Library

The library is located at the heart of the campus and is easy to access. Visit our library to find what you need or to request for further assistance. The library also provides photocopying, printing and computer access services.

Starts operation on January 2015 with more than 30,000 books.

2 level library – able to accommodate approximately 150 to 200 people.

Collaboration with other libraries of Sarawak Skills, AWISAR, i-CATS Miri, SEITI, PPKS Mukah, SAVTI Miri and etc.

Clubs & Sports

Clubs & Sports participation is mandatory for first year students. It is our commitment to enhance your college life experience as well as your résumé when you graduate. The following list is the available options at the moment. If you cannot find what you prefer, we encourage you to form your own club. Please seek advice from the Student Affairs Unit for the process.

These are some of the available options when seeking financial assistance to help you realize your dreams in i-CATS. Each programme or scheme offers you different kind of assistance depending on your need. Please also note that most of these options require you to not use multiple assistance at once.

Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN)

PTPTN is the most common mode of financial assistance for higher learning institution learners in Malaysia. This body offers educational loans at the lowest rates to all eligible Malaysians who need to cover their tuition fees as well as in some cases, their common expenses for each semester. You can talk to our Accounts Department or check PTPTN’s official website https://www.ptptn.gov.my/ for details on applying.

Yayasan Sarawak / Sarawak Foundation

Yayasan Sarawak offers its generous assistance via their special arrangements with i-CATS. The foundation offers additional or full assistance to students depending on the student’s current applications. Please refer to Accounts Department to find out what you can apply.

Yayasan Ilmu Sarawak

Yayasan Ilmu offers two types of scholarship namely Geran Bantuan & Biasiswa Kenyalang. Geran Bantuan is open to all eligible Sarawakian students, while Biasiswa Kenyalang offers extra benefits to all eligible Sarawakian students who are achieving CGPA 3.7 or higher in their latest semester. i-CATS Care Scheme

i-CATS scheme is an in-house effort to assist students with two main essentials; hostel accommodation & daily food expenses. The focus of this scheme is to remove the basic burdens of all eligible students by providing immediate shelter and meals. If you have difficulties concerning one of these problems, you may speak to us for advice.

Other Financial Assistance
