Penang International Dental College (PIDC)
PIDC was established in the year 2006 and presently offers a 2+3 Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) twinning programme. This is a MQA accredited programme and the degree is conferred by our parent university, Vinayaka Missions University (VMU), India – a premier institution recognised by Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA), Malaysian Dental Council (MDC) and Malaysian Medical Council (MMC).
Under the twinning programme, the first 2 years of the pre-clinical studies is carried out at our PIDC campus at VMU, India. Students will continue the subsequent 3 years of clinical programme at our PIDC campus at Butterworth, Penang. Training in medicine and surgery for dental students is conducted at Penang Hospital, whereas all dental subjects are taught at the PIDC Campus in Butterworth.

In India, the College has an air-conditioned auditorium and lecture halls. Each department is equipped with labs for basic and preclinical medical and dental subjects and an air-conditioned library with a huge collection of books and journals enabling students to keep themselves up to date with current information, laboratory procedures and trends in dentistry. Fully furnished, air-conditioned, twin sharing rooms, a cafeteria catering a variety of Malaysian dishes, pharmacy and stores are also available in the College campus vicinity for students, There is a well-equipped 400 bedded hi-tech hospital on the same campus, which provides healthcare services at an optimal level. The hostel campus is also wi-fi enabled.
In Penang, the College has air-conditioned oral pathology labs, prosthetic labs, three polyclinics, a well equipped library and a cafeteria. Located at NB Tower in Butterworth, the College is equipped with 75 dental chairs and teaching facilities. This conducive atmosphere allows students to be trained as world class dental surgeons under the guidance of senior dental specialists and academicians.
