Liverpool John Moores originally founded as a small mechanics institution (Liverpool Mechanics' School of Arts) in 1825, the institution grew over the centuries by converging and amalgamating with different colleges and eventually became the Liverpool Polytechnic. In 1992, the Polytechnic became one of the UK's new generation universities and assumed the name Liverpool John Moores University. The University took its name from Sir John Moores, the founder of the Littlewoods empire, which has been synonymous with Liverpool since it began in 1923. Sir John was a great believer in the creation of opportunity for all which embodies the ethos of LJMU in providing educational routes for people of all ages and from all backgrounds.

LJMU has continued to go from strength to strength, and its now has over 24,000 students from all over the world. The University has played a vital role in the cultural renaissance of Liverpool and has taken an active part in the regeneration of the city. Qualify As A Real Estate Agent
IMPERIA specialises in built environment programmes. IMPERIA offers Diploma in Estate Management which is fully accredited by the Board of Valuers, Appraisers and Estate Agents Malaysia (BOVAEA). After students complete this programme, they are eligible to register as a probationary estate agent.

Industry Relevant
IMPERIA has set up ARIEL (Academic Reinforced Industry Exposure Learning) which aims to produce graduates who are knowledgeable and prepared for the industry. IMPERIA is embarking on a more concerted effort to expose our students through industrial-related trips and activities. Besides that, IMPERIA also conducts VALUE (Value Added Life Useful Education) which focus on students' soft skills. The objective of VALUE is to provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge which will enable them to contribute to the development of the built environment industry.

Excellent Prospects for Employment
Graduates from IMPERIA can pursue careers in property management, quantity surveying and construction management. Property management or real estate management is primarily concerned with the valuation and management of urban land and buildings, both in public and private ownership. Professional activities involve action on behalf of private or public sector clients in the purchase, letting, management and sale of all types of urban property such as shops, offices, industrial premises, distribution warehouses, shopping centres, houses, etc.

On the other hand, the quantity surveying are involved in specialist areas such as project management, facilities management and value and risk management. The quantity surveyor is a key member of the construction team and its professional who not only has technical knowledge but also managerial skills and an awareness of the principles of business.

Construction management is a diverse, dynamic and demanding profession. It involves a range of roles, including management, planning and financial control of construction projects, facilities management and maintenance of completed buildings. Construction managers plan and coordinate construction projects. They may have job titles such as project manager, general contractor, construction manager, specialist contractor, project site engineer or contract manager.

Other Amenities
IMPERIA is located close to a lush town park that has a man-made lake. The park has jogging tracks, picnic spots, and benches. In addition, there are also various facilities for sports that are within walking distance from the campus such as public swimming pool, tennis and badminton courts, and community hall. Accommodation is easily available, at reasonable rentals, and the strategic location of the institution also offers easy accessibility via the major trunk roads and highways.

History

IMPERIA was founded in 1995 by a group of entrepreneurs to offer training and human resource development courses to the general public. It was approved by the Selangor State Education Department in October 1996 to offer certificate courses under the institution name of "Centre for Continuing Development and Further Education".

On 20 April 1998, it was approved by MOHE to conduct diploma courses under the institution name of "Institute for Continuing Development and Further Education" (ICDFE). Among the diploma and degree programmes approved by MOHE were :
