Background of Institution
Perdana University, an initiative between Academic Medical Centre Sdn Bhd and the Public-Private Partnership Unit in the Prime Minister’s Department, was officially launched in 2011. The current Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was the Founding Chancellor of the University. This strong partnership with the Malaysian government means that we are committed to delivering programmes of exceptional quality. With world-renowned institutions, agencies and organisations as our partners, Perdana University offers premier programmes of quality that are benchmarked against international standards. As we are committed to excellence in all our endeavours, we ensure that all our programmes meet the requirements of the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and other professional accrediting agencies.

Library
The Perdana University Library is a central resource for research and knowledge discovery. Its design is supplemented by a collection of e-books and online databases while maintaining a collection of core textbooks and reference works in printed copies. The E-Library is equipped with 50 computers with internet access and is highly in demand by students for listening, self-study and access to online materials. The online learning resources and our library facilities support independent study.
Clinical Academic Centers
Perdana University has two Clinical Academic Centres located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur and Seremban respectively. These centers facilitate clinical tutorial sessions for students who undergo clinical postings at the General Hospitals of Kuala Lumpur and Seremban. The centers are also used for examinations for medical students of Perdana University.

The laboratories are set-up to help students develop their skills in a practical setting. All laboratories are fully equipped with air-conditioning, IT and Audiovisual equipment’s.
Student Support Services
The Student Services Unit at Perdana University assists students in areas of welfare, accommodation and transport services. The International Student Officer under the Student Services Unit assists International students with visa application, airport pick up etc.
The indoor sports facilities at the Student Lounge helps students to unwind from their hectic schedules. Among the facilities currently present are a badminton court, Futsal, Dart, board games, foosball etc.
The time at University can be a time of personal discovery and development. As this time may be full of challenges, the Counselling Unit of Perdana University provide students with guidance and support. Counselling involves professional relationship between and individual and a professional counselor who will provide guidance to the individual on the matter at hand. Students are assured that all communication with the Counselling Unit will be handled with the strictest confidentiality.
Student Development Activities for Employability
As holistic education is given utmost priority at Perdana University, the Counselling Unit has been actively engaging students in various academic and non-academic activities in and out of campus. Among some of the activities organized are:
Time Management and Study Skills – This workshop is usually conducted for new registrants during the orientation week. The aim is to train students to better manage their time and for students to adapt to the environment at Perdana University.
University Open Days – Students are also encouraged to participate as ambassadors during Open Days. The objective is to expose students to various soft skills e.g. communication, presentation, teamwork etc. which will be useful in building self-confidence.
Perdana University Research Day – Perdana University Centre for Research Excellence (PU-CRE) organizes the Perdana University Research Day annually with the objective of promoting research among students. At the event, students present their research output and progress. Students and staff will also have the opportunity to participate in other research-related activities such as research talks, ethics awareness and responsible conduct of research sessions. Student research excellence awards are also presented categorically.
The Student Experience
At Perdana University, we believe that university life has to include both academic and fun activities that are beneficial in developing students’ leadership skills and inculcating students’ sense of social responsibility. These activities include Feed-The-Homeless Programme, Arts Appreciation, Community Service (Medical Camp), collaborative research programme, among others.

SETARA 2017
Malaysia Rating for University and University College Excellence (SETARA) measures the quality of all public and private Institutions in the areas of General operations, Teaching and Learning, Research and Services. PU was audited on all these criteria’s and we are proud to have been accorded a 4-Star rating (Very Good) under the category of Emerging University by the Ministry of Higher Education in 2017.
BRANDLAUREATE CSR AWARD
Perdana University is proud to be the recipient for The BrandLaureate Brand Leadership Award 2018 for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). According to the BrandLaureate, the award honours “corporations, NGOs, societies, institutions, individuals that go out of their way to give back to the world in ways they see fit and deem necessary”.
