Student Testimonials
Arun Prasad Baidya, NepalPh.D in Aquaculture Arun Prasad Baidya from Nepal is currently doing Ph.D in Aquaculture, majoring in Hatchery Management. He was a Fisheries Officer in Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC) before coming to Malaysia to further his studies. It is his aim to complete his Ph.D, to improve his competency and to contribute his skill and knowledge to the development of aquaculture in his country. ‘In this programme, we study hatchery operations but the best part is to be exposed to practical knowledge about raising the quality of fish and practicing the optimal use of cultured fishes in management programmes. Therefore, I want to bring back catfish seed production technology to my country and implement it there,” said Prasad. He also added that he would encourage more international students to further their studies in UMS and suggested that the programme offered should expand its scope to the field of freshwater aquaculture. |
