Institution Overview

Background of Institution

The British Council is the UK's international organisation for educational opportunities and cultural relations. We create international opportunities for the people of the UK and other countries and build trust between them worldwide. We have a long history in Malaysia, having established our presence in Kuala Lumpur, 1947.

Teaching English is a large part of what we do, but we also conduct corporate training and help students prepare for and take examinations such as IELTS. In addition, we promote British culture through international partnerships in the arts, society and education and work to improve the quality of English language teaching in Malaysia.

Quality

Learner focus
Students are the central focus in our teaching. We encourage them to use the language as much as possible. We provide them the grammar, vocabulary, speaking and learning skill, so they continue the learning process outside the classroom.

Our teachers
Our teachers are from around the world. They have international teaching experience and teaching qualification accredited by the UK universities.

Learning support
There are academic counselors, speaking club, reading club, grammar workshop, computer and learning software and other activities to help students progress with their learning.

International exposure
We have students from all over the world. Some classes have over 10 nationalities. Students are encouraged to use English to communicate with friends in the classroom.
