Stamford to provide courses to Kolej Anjung Selatan

A Memorandum of Understanding between Stamford College and Kolej Anjung Selatan (KAS) was signed for the conduct of specified Stamford College courses at Kolej Anjung Selatan. For a start, Secretarial and English courses will commence while Computer Science, Hotel Management and Business will follow at a later stage.

Dato Hj.Abdul Halim, Executive Chairman of Stamford College and a signatory to the MoU said that it was timely to have this agreement as Stamford would provide educational services and support to KAS. He added that Stamford would be a ‘ big brother’ to KAS and will ensure that the programmes introduced at KAS will have the same quality and stranded as those enjoyed by Stamford College.

“ We will provide all the assistance and support needed to make this collaboration a success. We share a lot in common with KAS and we intend to create a strong branding for KAS through the goodwill of Stamford College. Stamford has maintained a positive corporate image with strong customer preference and our intention is to provide the same for KAS,” Dato Halim said.

In his speech, En.Shahrum bin Dato’ Hj. Mohd. Sharif, President of KAS, mentioned that the strategic association with Stamford College will not only be a benchmark for the courses offered by KAS but also give them an opportunity to market quality programmes to the regional communities in the Sepang and southern regions of the country. The first intake for the courses is expected to commence in April 2003.
“ Stamford College has been around for over 50 years and has the capacity, expertise and technical know-how to be competitive in a market that has grown substantially in the last decade, We need to learn and be supported by them to succeed in this business. I am confident that this strategic partnership will be able to face the challenges of this new economic environment, ” En. Shahrum said.
Y.B.Dato’Hj.Mohd.Sharif bin Jajang, Ahli Mesyuarat Kerajan Negeri Selangor, who attended the ceremony as a guest of KAS said that he was glad that Stamford was now associated with KAS as it provided an opportunity for its courses to be marketed in the Sepang area. He said that Sepang was a growth area with huge projects that will draw more customers to this active development. He added that he would play his part in this smart partnership by providing all the support needed through his good offices.

Other representatives from Stamford College who attended the MoU were Dato W.M. Chan, Dr.Annuar Ahmad (a signatory to the MoU) En. Razali Haron, En.Mohd. Ahmad Sani and members of the Marketing Department.
