INTI’s launch of a new RM40 million campus in the heart of Subang Jaya marks the rise of a greatly enhanced teaching and learning environment encompassing not only state-of-the-art facilities and technology but also brand new programmes of study offered via an innovative blended and online learning platform.

classroom-FN.jpgEmbodying the concept of a cosmopolitan learning environment, with emphasis on openness and community, the new INTI International College Subang (IICS) has capacity for 7,000 students from Malaysia and across the globe. Amenities include a new three-storey building housing a 300-seat auditorium that serves as an impressive venue for presentations by local and international speakers as well as ample learning spaces. It also houses INTI’s new School of Art & Design complete with a design gallery, studios, Macintosh and Autocad labs, materials library and design centre.

“The launch of the new campus is not just about the building itself or the investment we have put in towards new facilities. It is about improving ourselves to provide a student-centred educational experience and to enable us to more effectively educate and groom the next generation of industry and world-ready graduates,” said Dr. Dominic Szambowski, President of IICS during his address at a cocktail reception in the new campus gallery.

With the new campus, IICS will be launching new programmes in the field of Art and Design with first intakes beginning in April 2013. The programmes include certificate, foundation, diploma and 3+0 degree courses in fashion, graphic design, interior design, interactive, multimedia and animation, which are designed in collaboration with the UK’s Sheffield Hallam University. INTI had also recently launched a new Masters of International Business program offered in collaboration with the University of Wollongong.

Additional investments have been made to upgrade campus facilities in Nilai, Penang and Sabah.  Beyond physical structures, the organisation has invested in technology and learning resources to provide students in Malaysia with access to global knowledge, thought processes, best practices and academic talent, and to develop the future leaders of the nation via an individualized and innovative learning experience.

The launch of the new campus building in Subang was celebrated with a 3-day festival comprising workshops and events by celebrities, industry leaders and a community project. Dubbed the INTI Edge Festival, the many events were orchestrated to project the international experience and innovative learning environment that INTI promises to deliver to its students.

During the 3-day festival, INTI stayed true to its delivery of innovative learning experiences by inviting speakers such as Jay Sheldon, a television and film director who is a master of body language and signals. INTI’s trademark enrolment-to-employment initiative, the Business Leadership Series was also held hosting Munirah Khairuddin, Acting CEO of CIMB Wealth Advisors Bhd & Deputy CEO of CIMB-Principal Asset Management Bhd.

A highlight of the launch festival was the community service project jointly organized by the United Nations High-Commissioner for Refugees and Diesel Malaysia. The Graffiti Competition saw 22 participants spray paint their interpretation of the theme, United Against Human Trafficking, with the winning design to be printed on Diesel T-shirts and the proceeds from sales contributed towards the cause. The project was also part of INTI’s efforts to instill volunteerism and build awareness amongst the youth of today regarding world issues.
