In search of best talents around the country, The One Academy proudly presents the Malaysia Top 10 Outstanding Young Artist Award 2014, the 17th annual edition of the groundbreaking talent-seeking art competition where scholarships and fantastic prizes worth more than RM720,000.00 await the winners! 

Celebrating the much-anticipated release of Disney’s Plane: Fire & Rescue, this prestigious annual competition is open to all secondary school students in Malaysia. The event is proudly sponsored by Walt Disney Studios Malaysia, University of Hertfordshire, Canon, Gempak and Comic King, as well as supported by Multimedia Development Corporation (MDEC). 

Among the prizes are scholarships to study at The One Academy worth RM60,000, RM50,000 and RM40,000 for the Gold, Silver and Bronze winners respectively. The Gold winner is also entitled to a £5,000 scholarship to study Bachelor’s Degree programme upon completion of their Diploma-level studies in The One Academy, in our British affiliate, the University of Hertfordshire. Also to be won are 7 Young Artists Awards that come with scholarship of RM25,000 each, 25 Encouragement Prizes with scholarship worth RM5,000, and 75 Jury’s Special Selection Prizes offering scholarship worth RM3,000. Other exciting prizes include trophies, Apple iPhone 5S, iPad Air, iPad 2, Apple iPad 2 and movie premiums.

Entering its 17th year, this annual competition is held annually in conjunction with the releases of animated feature by Disney or Pixar studios, beginning with A Bug’s Life in 1998. Over the years, it has offered more than RM4 million worth of scholarships to talented youths. 

The competition will be held in stages, with On-The-Spot Competition from late June to mid July at various cities, namely Alor Setar, Batu Pahat, Johor Bahru, Georgetown, Kota Kinabalu, Sibu, Kuching, Ipoh. Finally on 19th July, 2014, the competition will come to Bandar Sunway, Selangor. Participants shall attend the competition at the location of their choice and create an artwork based on the theme ‘Rescue Mission’. All Art Teachers and Counsellors are welcome to attend the Creative Seminar conducted by our talented professional lecturers and award-winning Animation Showcase at all locations, as well as the Prize Presentation Ceremony to be held in Bandar Sunway.
