On Course To Further Strengthen The Education System

September 15, 2014 | National News

KUALA LUMPUR: THE National Education Advisory Council (MPPK) will work to further strengthen the education system, and for the first two years will focus on higher education.

MPPK chairman Tan Sri Dr Abdul Rahman Arshad said the council will then move in stages to other levels of education and review what needs to be done in accordance with the ministry’s requirements.

“I will try to address the series of problems and issues in the education sector from pre-school up to higher education level and the continuity at each level.

“It may take some time, but the council comprises people who are prominent in various fields. We will try to improve and give our best. Rest assured that it will further improve the national education system,” he said at an interview recently.

Abdul Rahman said apart from examining the education system implementation, the advisory council would also be reviewing the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013-2015 from time to time.

Nine other people were appointed as members of the council for the term beginning Aug 1, 2014 to July 31, 2016.
