KUALA LUMPUR: THE Education Ministry has implemented several security measures to prevent any leakage of the questions of the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination papers.
Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said following the leakages of several Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) papers this year, all of the 526 strongrooms to store the papers were equipped with closed-circuit-television cameras (CCTV).
“The transportation of examination papers to all schools nationwide is also closely monitored with cooperation from the police and other relevant agencies,” he said after visiting SMK Kiaramas to observe the handling of the first day of the SPM examinations yesterday.
Muhyiddin, who is also education minister, said with such measures, the ministry could identify any tampering of the papers.
“We hope that there would not be any leak of the papers with all these measures in place.”
He also said preparations had been made in states that were likely to be hit by floods so that the examinations could be continued.
