Face-to-face meeting with potential employers

Kuala Lumpur – 200 Computing and Information Technology (IT) students gathered at the Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) and participated in the ‘InternsConnect’ which was jointly organized by APU Careers Centre, iM4U and Jobstreet Malaysia. The event was held with the objectives of assisting students to secure an internship with top employers in Malaysia, as well as to provide them with real-life experience of meeting potential employers.

Unlike conventional career fairs, this event was a unique experience for both students and companies, as both students and employers were only given 5 minutes to interact with each other. The students were given 3 minutes to pitch to the employers on their talents and abilities, whereas employers were given only 2 minutes to ask questions. After 5 minutes, students were required to move on to the next company and the session went on. Shortlisted candidates, who were able to impress the participating companies, will be called for an interview after the event.

The event was held with great success, as it saw participation from several Malaysian companies, including Zalora, Domino’s, Hitachi Data Systems, Silverlake and many more.
