Education Guide Malaysia (EGM) - 14th Edition 2015 / 2016

“Education Guide Malaysia, along with its complementary web-portal www.StudyMalaysia.com, provides a complete guidance on study opportunities at Malaysian higher educational institutions. First released in 1993, the guidebook is already in its 14th edition; this year’s guide has been specially written to help students make the right choice for their higher education.” -- from the preface

14th edition of Education Guide Malaysia has just been released. The guidebook, which also contains a directory, is especially useful for school-going students at secondary level and students with SPM/UEC/STPM/A-Level qualifications who are exploring higher education opportunities. The guidebook is also a valuable resource for Malaysian school counsellors, parents, librarians, researchers, operators of educational institutions and the education community.

In this latest edition, students will find a new section called the 27 Fields of Study which contains a description of the various branches of knowledge that is taught and researched, courses under each field, and its possible career options.

“Choosing the right education pathway doesn't need to be difficult or confusing. Our education guide takes you step-by-step in deciding on the right option,” said Mr Tan Mui Hong, managing director of Challenger Concept (M) Sdn Bhd.

“There’s a section in the guidebook which shares with its readers on learning how to get to know yourself and how to choose the right career.”

He also explained that students who make a career and study choice that suits their personality have a higher chance of enjoying their job and being successful at it. Students will also be more likely to complete their studies when they choose a course that complements their interests.

The guidebook informs students of the various study routes from pre-u to postgraduate levels, admission requirements, and how to apply. The directory section contains a listing of 122 institutions and more than 4000 courses which include TVET providers for students interested in a vocational education option.

Other interesting sections include a topic on financial help where readers can browse a listing of financial aid providers, eg PTPTN, JPA, Khazanah Scholarships, Kuok Foundation, and more. Also in the guidebook is a list of addresses of higher educational institutions in Malaysia.

This annual handbook is an indispensable source of reference that equips students with the most complete information under one-roof about educational opportunities in Malaysia.

Enjoy your journey to higher education – we can help you start off on the right foot and the right course.
