Team to steer uni to greater heights

THE new year marked an exciting new phase for the International Medical University (IMU), which welcomed new vice-chancellor Prof Abdul Aziz Baba along with several other members of the management team.

Prof Abdul Aziz who is also IMU Education chief executive officer (CEO), served as the university’s vice-president for medical and dental programmes since July 2013.

He takes over from Tan Sri Dr Abu Bakar Suleiman, whose term as CEO ended on Dec 31 last year. Dr Abu Bakar will remain as IMU Health Sdn Bhd president. IMU Health Sdn Bhd is the parent company overseeing IMU Education, IMC Education and IMU Healthcare.

Under Dr Abu Bakar’s leadership for the past 15 years, the university has seen exponential growth and development which included not only the expansion of the medical and dentistry programmes but also health in an integrated and holistic manner.
