New v-c for UniSZA
February 16, 2016 | National NewsRENOWNED neurosurgeon Prof Datuk Dr Ahmad Zubaidi A. Latif has been appointed as the new Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) vice- chancellor.
He takes over from Prof Datuk Dr Yahya Ibrahim.
The Higher Education Ministry in a statement, said the appointment was for a period of three years effective from Feb 1 until Jan 31, 2019.
"Prof Ahmad Zubaidi's experience in the fields of administration, medicine, research and involvement in community activities made him a suitable candidate to lead UniSZA to a higher level," said the ministry.
Born on April 30, 1961 in Pekan Bukit Payung, Kuala Terengganu, Prof Ahmad Zubaidi is a former student of Malay College Kuala Kangsar, Perak. He qualified as a doctor from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
In 1992, he was appointed Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh and received his master's degree in medicine (surgery) from Universiti Malaya the following year.
