School leavers invited to Curtin Information Session in Mukah and Sibu

Miri – 11 February 2016 – School leavers who are keen to find out more about studying at Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak), especially in its current February/March intake, are invited to attend the Curtin Information Session events in Mukah on 15 February and Sibu on 16 February.

In Mukah, the event will take place at Kingwood Hotel Mukah while in Sibu, the event will be held at Academic Consultant Services (ACS) Office located at No. 22A, 1st Floor, Taman Damai, Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg. Both sessions will be from 2.00 to 5.00 pm.

Marketing officers from the university will be available to counsel the students on courses, career pathways, scholarships and enrolment. Admission is free and potential students are advised to bring along their actual or forecasted results for on-the-spot assessment and application purposes.

In addition, they can also take the opportunity to enquire about Curtin Sarawak’s Curtin Merit Scholarships open to school leavers with SPM, STPM, O-Level, A-Level and UEC qualifications for foundation and undergraduate studies at the university. Curtin Sarawak is Curtin University’s largest international campus, offering students quality Australian education right at their doorsteps. Students study courses identical to those at other Curtin campuses and degrees earned at the Sarawak campus are conferred directly by Curtin University. 

Students are offered flexibility in completing their degrees, in which they can study part of their degrees at the main campus in Perth or another Curtin campus.

Curtin University is currently ranked in the top two percent of universities worldwide in the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) and in the top 200 ARWU field ranking for Engineering/Technology and Computer Sciences.

In particular, potential students to Curtin Sarawak should note that Curtin ranks in the world’s top 100 for chemical engineering, and top 150 for electrical and electronic engineering and communication and media studies in the 2015 QSWUR by Subject rankings.

It is also in the top 200 for civil engineering, computer science and information systems, environmental sciences, accounting and finance, and business and management studies; and top 300 in mechanical engineering.
