PSD to discuss new bursary model implementation today

PETALING JAYA: A statement will be issued by the Public Service Department (PSD) as early as this week to clear up confusion over the newly announced “sponsorship model” for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) students with excellent results.

It was learnt that a meeting was scheduled today to discuss the implementation of the new bursary model following the revised Budget 2016 announced by the Government last month.

“There is still some confusion over the matter which has yet to be ironed out by several stakeholders.

“PSD is expected to release a statement by this week,” said a source from the department yesterday.
