So You’ve Got Your SPM Result – What’s Next?

Foundation and Diploma programmes with pathways

Under our three faculties - Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences, Faculty of Design & Built Environment and Faculty of Engineering & Computing - First City UC offers university foundation programmes, namely Foundation in Business Administration, Foundation in Art & Design and Foundation in Engineering, Science & Technology respectively. Each of the one-year intensive course leads to a range of specialisation in further undergraduate degree programmes in the fields of Business, Mass Communication, Hospitality & Tourism Management, Design & Built Environment, Engineering and Computing. During the year, you study for three semesters under modules specially-designed to acquire basic knowledge and skills you can expand on when you pursue your degree programme. These modules will help you to discover your passion and interest, after which you can opt for subjects and elective modules related to the disciplines you wish to specialise in during Semesters 2 and 3. Once you complete the foundation course, you would be able to start Year 1 of the degree programme of your choice.

Alternatively, you can choose to pursue diploma programmes if you already have a clear interest in specialised fields in Business, Design & Built Environment, Engineering or Computing. After the two-year studies, you will possess an advanced standing once you graduate to continue to Year 2 of a related degree programme of your choice at First City UC.

March Open Day

For more information about the various programmes, scholarships and incentives we offer, you are welcome to visit us during our Open Day this March. Our attentive counsellors are available to attend to your enquiries everyday including weekends until 31^st March 2017. During the design week on 11^th to 12^th March student can join Interactive games and activities related to the art and design field. On 25^th to 26^th March, we are organising the Business & Social Sciences Week; you would be able to take part in Interactive Games and Demonstration while checking out our new campus building and meeting our academic staff.
