Three TAR UC Students Ace in ACCA Examinations

Three students from Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (‘TAR UC’) who are studying the Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) made it to the list of top scorers in the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (‘ACCA’) examinations once again when they aced in 3 ACCA papers in the March 2017 examinations. Following the release of examination results, the three TAR UC students emerged top in Malaysia and are ranked among the top ten in the world for paper P1 Governance, Risk and Ethics, paper P2 Corporate Reporting and paper P3 Business Analysis. This is the first time TAR UC has three students who emerged top in Malaysia in three different papers in the same examination sitting and also all ranked among the top ten in the world.

Chin Jien Hua is one of the top scorers who came up top in Malaysia and seventh in the world for Paper P1 Governance, Risk and Ethics. Jien Hua was on cloud nine when he came to know about his achievement. He said that besides a strong sense of focus and support from family which led to his success, he also attributed his achievement to past mistakes which motivated him to practise more and learn from them. With deep gratitude for all that he gained from TAR UC, he said: “This institution is the place where I got to meet friends from all walks of life who are striving towards the same goal that is to pass their ACCA papers. I want to share my knowledge and experience to students in preparation for their professional papers in the future.”

Meanwhile, Huang Chun Hui emerged top in Malaysia and fourth in the world for paper P2 Corporate Reporting. With the ambition to work his way up at a renowned multinational company in the near future, Chun Hui is focused on equipping himself with the required experience in auditing and accounting with the aim of paving the way for him to achieve his ambition. For him, this achievement is in a way a confidence booster for him to excel in the field of accounting. “Self-discipline is important whilst preparing for the examination. I used to do last minute studying and it was difficult to absorb everything. By planning a study schedule for myself and doing my revision consistently during my break time between classes in the library, I was able to comprehend the concepts rather than wasting time on memorising them,” he added.

Another top scorer who is well on his way towards achieving his aspirations is Toh Shaw Jun who ranked top in Malaysia and tenth in the world for paper P3 Business Analysis. Uplifted by this achievement, the high-spirited young lad is more determined and focused on what he would want to achieve in his career. “Nothing in life is impossible if I put my mind to it! This achievement is testament to that and there is still much more in life to accomplish. Don’t ever give up. If you are thinking of giving up, remember why you started in the beginning,” he added as an inspiration to his juniors.
