June 29, 2019 | Campus News

School leavers keen to enrol in Foundation and undergraduate programmes at Curtin Malaysia are encouraged to attend the Academic Open Day.

Miri – 29 June 2019 – Curtin University Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia) is inviting SPM, STPM, UEC, O-Level and A-Level leavers interested to enrol in its current July/August (Semester 2) 2019 intake to its next Academic Open Day on 13 July 2019.

Classes for undergraduate degree courses start on 27 July 2019, while foundation classes will start on 10 August 2019.

The Academic Open Day, to be held in the Melinau Room 4 of Imperial Palace Hotel, Miri from 10 am to 5 pm, is aimed at generating interest among potential students and parents in the fields of study at Curtin Malaysia, which are engineering, science, technology, business and arts.

This includes study at undergraduate and postgraduate degree levels, as well as in pre-university courses such as the foundation programmes and Intensive English Programme (IEP). In addition, aspects such as facilities and campus life, scholarships and student loans, and career prospects in different disciplines, will be highlighted.

Interested school leavers are advised to bring along their actual or forecasted results for on-the-spot evaluation and applications. They will get free personalised course consultations with student recruitment officers to help them make informed decisions about their ideal career pathways, choice of course and enrolment. Lecturers from the faculties of Engineering & Science, Business, and Humanities will also be available to offer advice.

Those who qualify and apply on the spot stand a chance to receive complimentary AirAsia e-vouchers worth up to RM300 each.

Attendees should also take the opportunity to find out about scholarships and study loans available. They include the Curtin Malaysia 20th Anniversary Scholarships, Curtin Malaysia Merit Scholarships, Yayasan Sarawak Scholarships, and PTPTN study loans.

Curtin Malaysia is also rewarding Malaysian applicants for early payment of fees by offering a RM500 early bird course fee rebate. While the offer for those applying for undergraduate degree courses ended on 29 June 2019, the offer is still available to applicants for foundation courses if they pay their fees before 13 July 2019. Specific terms and conditions apply and enquiries can be made at http://bit.ly/CurtinFutureStudentsEnquiry.

Through the use of virtual reality, attendees can take a virtual tour of Curtin Malaysia during the Curtin Academic Open Day to get a glimpse of its facilities and life at the campus. However, if actual tours of the 1,200 acre campus are preferred, they can be arranged for a later date.
