Dasein Digital Media Team Awed Crowd at Putrajaya Light & Motion Festival
September 6, 2021 | Achievement NewsCrowd goers celebrating the 2020 new year at Putrajaya were in for a treat with the spectacular grand projection mapping at the façade of Palace of Justice, part of the annual Putrajaya Light & Motion Festival (LAMPU) 2019 celebrations. Themed ‘Beautiful Malaysia’, the grand projection mapping competition featured stunning video projections by different teams from varsities in Malaysia.
The students from Dasein Academy of Art’s digital media program Lim Ching Xian, Jenny Su Kai Wen, Chan Wai Fong, Wong Xing Kai and Wong Si Ying bagged the grand prize and RM10,000.00 cash prize having emerged as the grand prize winner at the projection mapping competition at LAMPU 2019. Their projection highlights Malaysia’s rich culture and historical landscapes and significant technology developments onto the architecture surface of the Palace of Justice which houses the Malaysian Court of Appeal and Federal Court.
Video projection mapping, mobile app development, website design and programming, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) are part of the digital media program which spans across art, science and media practice. The digital media program at Dasein Academy of Art guides students to discover design solutions incorporating art and technology, of which they will be poised to take on challenges in the constantly evolving media industry.
