How Creative TVET Education Is Shaping Malaysia’s Future Talent in Game Art, Animation and Digital Media
KUALA LUMPUR, 26 June 2026 — As Malaysia strengthens its TVET ecosystem, creative technology is emerging as a key pathway for students interested in games, animation, film, visual effects, and digital content creation. Beyond artistic talent, today’s creative industries demand practical skills, industry-standard workflows, portfolio development, and real production experience, particularly in growing fields such as 3D Digital Game Art, 3D Animation, visual effects, virtual production, and immersive media.

Claz’room College, recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) as Malaysia’s Leading Creative College, continues to support this direction through industry-oriented programmes in Digital Illustration, 3D Modelling, Digital 3D Animation, and Film Visual Effects (VFX). These programmes are designed to help students build practical creative skills that are relevant to the needs of the gaming, animation, film, and digital media industries.
This commitment was recently highlighted at Hari TVET Negara 2026, where Claz’room College was invited to participate as the only college representing Malaysia’s 3D Digital Game Art industry.
Held from 5 to 7 June 2026, Hari TVET Negara 2026 brought together industry leaders, educational institutions, government agencies, and training providers to showcase the future of TVET education in Malaysia. The national-level event featured six major hubs covering industry collaboration, seminars, career opportunities, entrepreneurship, skills challenges, and public engagement activities.
Claz’room College was selected to represent the Future Skills Showcase and Technology Demonstration category, where the college presented how creative technology and digital production skills are shaping the next generation of Malaysia’s creative workforce.
One of the key highlights at the Claz’room College booth was an Augmented Reality (AR) mobile activation experience developed in collaboration with TrueXR. Through this interactive showcase, visitors were able to experience immersive 3D visuals through a mobile device, demonstrating how AR can be used in digital storytelling, education, entertainment, and creative media.

The booth also featured live 3D scanning and 3D printing demonstrations, giving visitors a closer look at how real-world objects can be transformed into digital 3D assets. These technologies are widely used in game development, 3D animation, virtual production, visual effects, and digital media production.

During the event, Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister, YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, visited the Claz’room College booth to experience the creative technology showcases. In collaboration with industry partner Yizumade, Claz’room College presented a customised 3D-printed commemorative gift, demonstrating the creative possibilities of 3D design and digital manufacturing.

Beyond the technology showcase, Claz’room College also conducted a live WorldSkills-inspired workshop and competition programme. Participants gained first-hand exposure to international standards in 3D digital art, 3D content creation, and creative production workflows.
The workshop and competition challenged participants in areas such as technical skills, creative problem-solving, artistic presentation, and professional digital production techniques. The programme concluded with an award ceremony on 7 June 2026, where outstanding participants of the WorldSkills 3D Digital Game Art Competition were recognised.

Visitors also attended live demonstrations of advanced 3D cinematic visual effects, offering insight into the creative and technical processes behind professional digital content production. These demonstrations helped students and members of the public better understand how visual effects, animation, and digital production skills are applied in real industry environments.

Another highlight was an exclusive sharing session by WorldSkills Asia Gold Medallist Lam Kar Chun, who shared his journey in the creative industry and his experience competing at the international level. Lam will represent Malaysia in the 3D Digital Game Art skill category at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 this September. His achievement reflects Claz’room College’s growing reputation in nurturing world-class game art talent, as highlighted in this article.
