The Malaysia Education Promotion Centre (MEPC) in China is located in the Malaysian Embassy in Beijing and will move to its own premises by end of this year. This Beijing MEPC started its operation in November 2003 as a regional centre in promoting Malaysian education throughout China, Hong Kong, Russia and South Korea.

Since China's residents form the biggest international student population in Malaysia, one of the jobs of this office is to assist the parents of existing students in Malaysia as well as to provide accurate information to prospective Chinese students who intend to study in Malaysia by assuring them of the quality tertiary education in Malaysia and the commitment of the Malaysian Government.

MEPC also provides support to Malaysia's educational institutions which want to penetrate into China's student market.
