Prof. Dr Anuar bin Ahmad, the 7th Rector of University College TATI (UC TATI) has the vision to set the right direction for tertiary education with values embedded knowledge and skills. He has made it as his commitment to see higher education in Terengganu to be at par with the standard and quality expected elsewhere in higher education institution in Malaysia. One of his main priorities is to enhance the visibility of the university at both regional and internationally.
To assure the quality of academic programmes, he ensures UC TATI adhere to the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and Department of Higher Education (JPT) and develops marketable and on-demand programmes.
As a prominent educator, he understands the need for hands-on learning in education. Thus, he has set up UC TATI Car Service Centre (TSC) as a platform for students to use their knowledge in Automotive Engineering Technology.
Prof. Dr Anuar also sets his sight towards developing UC TATI as one of the most energy-efficient universities in Malaysia through the installation of solar panels on the campus buildings rooftops. This solar panel installation has created opportunities for students to explore potential renewable energy technology research.
Faced by challenging economic times and changing geopolitical circumstances, Prof. Dr Anuar understands that all higher education institutions need to be innovative to generate income via subsidiary companies and affiliated centres. Thus, he has taken major steps to diversify income streams to become financially sustainable and be able to continue to deliver quality education. One of his contributions is the production of AboutSkin products, UC TATI's skincare line consisted of hand sanitizer and hand care travel kits, using the expertise of UC TATI's lecturers.
