myCOURSE Guide (3rd edition 2022/23) has been released! Featuring higher education study opportunities and guidance on choosing the right course to study

Are you in a fix as to where to study and how to choose the right course? Our just- released myCOURSE Guide (myCG3) will help you get on track.

Published by STUDYMALAYSIA, this just-released third edition2022/23 ofmyCOURSE Guide guidebook is designed to help high school students, parents and school counsellors understand the world of study disciplines found at universities and colleges at undergraduate level. By introducing students to the 27 fields of study, the guidebook aims to help students to understand the world of study disciplines and to point them in the right direction to choose the right course to study, that will lead them to a career that is a good fit for their career goal.

This guidebook is complemented by the online Course-Interest-Test at interest.studymalaysia.com. This online test provides a course exploration assessment activity that helps students uncover their academic and career interests as well as to find out which 27 fields of study are a good fit for them, through a series of 121 questions.

This myCOURSE Guide, is easy to use and comes with comprehensive information. Jointly with its digital PDF version, namely myCOURSE e-Guide v2.0, 2022 (English version), it is especially useful for school-going students at upper secondary level, students with SPM/IGCSE/STPM/A-Levels/UEC/Pre-U qualifications as well as school career counsellors and parents. 

This guidebook has four sections:

Section A: Where can you study?

This section provides you with a directory of well-established participating higher educational institutions for your selection. You will be spoilt for choice. This directory of participating institutions includes private universities, university colleges, private colleges and foreign university branch campuses.

Section B: Course Directory

This section provides you with a systematically arranged course information offered by 25 participating higher educational institutions, ranging from pre-university studies to undergraduate and postgraduate courses for your selection. The courses are listed by education level and faculty, and an estimate of the tuition fees. The directory gives you a quick look at what you can study at these participating universities and colleges.

Section C: Exploring Courses under the 27 Fields of Study

The 27 Fields of Study in this section help you explore courses and careers related to your interests. This section introduces students and school counsellors to the 27 fields of study, the sub-fields under each field of study, and features a total of about 2,900 courses (offered by both public and private universities and colleges) as well as a list of around 2,900 occupations under these fields. It aims to help students to understand the world of study disciplines available at universities and colleges at undergraduate level and the importance in choosing the right course to study. Students can use this section to help determine (by shortlisting) which field out of the 27 fields they have an interest in.

Section D: Study pathways and factors to consider when choosing a course

This section provides you with an overview of higher education study opportunities in Malaysia; various study pathways to tertiary level after high school, MQF’s eight levels of academic qualification structure and a checklist on important factors to consider when choosing a course.
