The job of a multimedia artist or animator

If you've ever watched a cartoon, played a video game, or seen an animated movie, you've seen the work of multimedia artists and animators. Using computers and other electronic media, they create a series of images that form the animation or special effects seen in movies, television programmes, cartoons, music videos, commercials, computer games and more.

Besides computers, multimedia artists and animators also draw images by hand, create 3-D models to simulate the behaviour of an animated object, and create special effects using a variety of material like wood, metal, plaster or clay.

Some create storyboards from animated features, movies or television commercials to present a series of scenes. These storyboards are also created by multimedia artists and animators to provide guidelines for the placement of cameras and actors and other production details for television or motion picture sets.

You may also participate in handling budgeting and scheduling, and assisting with responsibilities such as production coordination and progress tracking.
