The Yeoh Tiong Lay LLM Scholarship is a fund to help all students to undertake the one year LLM Law programme at King’s. The scholarships will cover the cost of your tuition fees for the year, and also provide a £10,000 contribution to your living costs whilst you are studying.
What is the Yeoh Tiong Lay LLM Scholarship?
The Yeoh Tiong Lay LLM Scholarship Programme offers prestigious scholarships to outstanding new Law students starting their studies at The Dickson Poon School of Law, King’s College London.
The scholarships form part of a larger £7 million gift to set up a new research-based Centre for Politics, Philosophy & Law. The gift, from the family of Malaysian alumnus Dato Mark Yeoh, will further build King’s reputation as a dynamic international centre for legal teaching and research in the heart of London. The £7 million gift will establish, through endowment, three new posts in The Dickson Poon School of Law at King’s College London – a Chair (£3.5m), two Lectureships (£1.5m each) and £500,000 for 16 full LLM scholarships.
Four scholarships will be available for the 2017-18 academic year. Of the four scholarships available each year, one is reserved for Malaysian residents only otherwise they are open to all applicants.
The scholarships will cover the cost of your tuition fees for the year, and also provide a £10,000 contribution to your living costs whilst you are studying.
Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of:
- Proven academic excellence
The Selection Panel will take the following into account in the selection process:
- Results achieved by candidate in his/her undergraduate degree
- Strength of candidate’s essay and personal statement
