Entry Requirements

General Requirements

The general academic requirements for admission into the undergraduate degree programmes are as follows:

  • A pass in the IIUM Matriculation Centre’s final examination with a CGPA of not less than 2.5 and fulfillment of all other requirements for promotion to the first year of the undergraduate degree programme, OR
  • Three principal passess of ‘C’ grades in the STPM (Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia) examination, OR
  • Three principal passes in the GCE ‘A’ level examination, OR
  • Any other certificate that is recognized by the Senate as equivalent to one of the above.

Specific Admission Requirement

(B.ED TASL)

  • At least B Grade in the Arabic Language at the STPM level or equivalent; AND
  • At least 2A in Arabic Language (Communication) or at least 3B in Advanced Arabic Language at the SPM Level or equivalent; AND
  • A credit in English Language at the SPM level or equivalent; OR
  • Obtained at least Band 2 in the “Malaysian University English Test” (MUET); AND
  • A credit in Mathematics / Additional Mathematics at the SPM level or equivalent.

Language requirements

Applicants are required to sit for the IIUM-administered English Placement Test (EPT) and Arabic Placement Test (APT) and obtained both language requirements as follows:

Interview

Malaysian applicants must pass the Teacher Selection Test (MEdSI) conducted by the Ministry of Higher Education.

 

Applicants must also pass the interview conducted by the Institute.

All fees are in RM (Ringgit Malaysia) currency unless stated otherwise.
