Course Description

This degree programme is designed with the aims to produce competent and remarkable graduates in managing and developing information systems in a business context with added knowledge in information management, enterprise system, e-commerce and organisational behaviour. These graduates are also able to integrate various technology solutions with an added knowledge in information systems management to be involved either in working environment or in pursuing postgraduate studies.

 

It is envisioned that the Information System (IS) specialist from IUKL be equipped with broad understanding of the fundamental knowledge prerequisite for the role as an efficient IS specialist, having professional attitudes and ethics necessary in fulfilling his/her responsibilities towards the Creator, clients and the local and international society. IS graduates from IUKL able to lead business organization based on knowledge of important current issues in information system such as user centred approach in electronic Enterprise Systems and Decision Support System and/or able to conduct research, whether at a postgraduate level or in his/her own organization.

Year 2

Requirements Engineering, System Analysis & Design Methods, Internet Programming, Major Elective I, IT Entrepreneurship, Database Administration, Interactive Skills, Major Elective II, Software Project Management, Object Oriented Technique, Technical & Professional Communication, Free Elective I, Major Elective III

Year 3

Entry Requirements
STPM Minimum 2 principle passes with GP 2.00 and a C in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent
Diploma
  • A Diploma in Computer Science or Software Engineering or Information Technology or Information Systems or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.50 and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent
  • Any other Diploma in science and technology or business studies with minimum CGPA of 2.50 may be admitted subject to a rigorous internal assessment process and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent
  • Candidates with CGPA below 2.50 but above 2.00 with a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent may be admitted subject to a rigorous internal assessment process
A-Level Minimum 2 Principal Passes and a C in O-Level Mathematics
UEC Minimum 5Bs (including Mathematics)
Foundation / Matriculation Minimum CGPA of 2.00 and a C in SPM Mathematics
SAM/HSC/AUSMAT TER/UAI: average 60% or higher in 5 subjects (including Mathematics)
CPU/CIMP Average of 55% or higher in 6 subjects (including Mathematics)

Other Qualifications Candidates with a credit in computing related subject at SPM or STPM level or its equivalent may be given preferential consideration
