Foundation in Business

Course Overview

This programme offers teaching in three business related modules, as well as training in transferable academic skills. Successful completion of the Foundation in Business programme can lead to full degree-level courses at the University of Reading in either the UK or Malaysia, including programmes at its internationally renowned Henley Business School.

Curriculum

All of the Foundation in Business modules are designed and taught by university lecturers and are therefore tailored with your future degree in mind. Students who wish to progress onto one of our highly regarded undergraduate programmes will be taught ‘Academic Skills’ and three modules relating to their chosen degree programme, chosen from:

• Economics
• Introduction to Business and Management
• Maths for Finance, Economics and Business
• Psychology

Students whose English level is below IELTS 6.5 or the equivalent will need to study our International English module in place of one of the above.

Entry Requirements

SPM: Minimum of 5 at Grade C or above, excluding English for Science and Technology, Islamic Studies and Moral Studies
IGCSE: 5 passes at Grade C or above, in relevant subjects
UEC: Minimum of 4 at Grade B or above, excluding Chinese, and Bookkeeping and Accounts. (Total of 24 points overall)
OR an equivalent international qualification

English Language:
SPM 1119 (GCE-O): Grade C or above
IELTS: 5.5 (no element below 4.5)
OR an equivalent recognised English Language qualification

Students whose English level is at IELTS 5.0 or below or SPM 1119 (GCE-O) Grade D, are encouraged to participate in the University English 1 programme prior to starting the Foundation Programme.
