This program is based on the versatility of wood fibres, characteristics, quality and wood fibre processing. The courses in this programme will touch on the basic knowledge of wood, identification of commercial timbers, the technology and processing techniques, management and marketing. The processing focuses on the upstream and downstream processing industries to produce wood products such as paper, fibreboard, particleboard and plywood. Other than that, this programme will also focus on technology and methods to enhance the wood quality, in a course which is related to wood drying and preservation. Aspects of marketing, policy and operation management will also be emphasized to strengthen the basic knowledge of management. The non-timber forest products will also be touched to provide general knowledge of other fibre sources.
