Course Description

This programme is established to produce competitive workforce for both public and private sectors by offering relevant courses not only in economics but also in business and accounting. This is necessary prior to their exposures to more specific programmes’ courses. Courses specifically covered include; economic development, geographical information system (GIS), agricultural economics, planning and project analysis, international trade and development, environmental economics, industrial economics, and Islamic economics etc.Students are also exposed to real work activities through industrial or practicum training in public or private organizations.

Since graduates are also to various courses in business and accounting, thus their employment prospects are not only limited to economics related jobs, but also any job opportunities in business. Some of the job opportunities includes; economics planning officer, urban Planning officer, development Advisor, researchers, economic analyst, banking officers, economist in private firms, etc. In addition, graduates can also combine their expertise with other graduates in different fields to establish business firm in various areas of their choice.
