The Bachelor of Social Science programme is designed to provide a broad education in the social sciences with the aims of producing students who are knowledgeable and sensitive to, as well as capable of understanding and handling social issues and social problems innovatively. Students choose a major from one of these four social science disciplines: Anthropology and Sociology, Development Planning and Management, Economics and Political Science. Students also choose a minor that can be from any one of the minor packages offered by the school or from other schools in USM. Although each major has its own requirements, in general students take university-level courses, basic and common social science courses, major courses, minor courses and elective courses to complete a minimum 122 units for graduation.
