Course Overview

Biochemistry has grown in importance as genetic engineering and molecular bioengineering have advanced, as well as in the physiological and medical fields. Students who study biochemistry will be able to investigate a wide range of problems in animals, plants, and microorganisms, encompassing all levels of biological organisation. In order to better understand the chemistry of living things, the study of scientific theory is supplemented with practical sessions (experiments and laboratory projects).

The UTAR Bachelor of Science (Honours) Biochemistry programme is designed to help students understand, analyse, practise, and assess their knowledge and laboratory abilities in a variety of biochemistry areas. It offers extensive training in biochemistry-related practical methods, data analysis, and problem solving.
