Course Overview

Biomedical Science, an exciting and dynamic field that is highly relevant to the understanding and treatment of human diseases, combines the fields of biology and medicine. It is concerned with the structure and function of the human body, from organs and tissues to the molecular level. Biomedical scientists are constantly developing advanced diagnostic tools and new therapeutic strategies to find new ways to cure or treat disease.

The Bachelor of Science (Honours) Biomedical Science programme at UTAR is an interdisciplinary programme that combines biology and pre-clinical sciences. The program's goal is to provide graduates with a solid foundation in the field of health sciences, as well as opportunities for students to put theory into practise in their healthcare development.

The degree programme prepares graduates for careers in medicine and health-related fields such as management, basic medical research, education, forensics, and pharmaceutical development.
