Diploma in Computer Science

Course Overview

This programme equips students with practical computer science knowledge and career-ready skills developed in alignment with industry standards and professional expectations.

Students build core competencies in computer programming, computer systems fundamentals, networking, and digital technologies through application-based learning and real-world projects. Guided instruction and experiential learning strengthen analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and confidence in applying modern technologies to practical situations.

Students will undergo an internship to gain structured, work-based industry exposure, preparing them for employment or progression to higher-level studies in computer science and related fields.

The Programme objectives are to:

1. To provide students with a solid foundation in computer science knowledge and technical skills for entry-level roles and further studies.
2. To enable students to apply practical skills to solve routine technical problems in line with industry requirements.
3. To strengthen students’ analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities when addressing system and application-related challenges.
4. To foster professional ethics, responsibility, and awareness of legal and societal considerations in technology-driven work environments.

A fast-track pathway is available for SPM/O-Level and SKM Level 3 holders leading to direct entry into Year 2 of selected Honours Degree programmes in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Intelligent Systems, Information Systems Management, and Networking and Security.

Entry Requirements

• SPM – Minimum 3Cs (including Mathematics)
• UEC – Minimum 3Bs (including Mathematics)
• GCE O-LEVEL – Minimum 3Cs (including Mathematics)
• OTHER QUALIFICATIONS – Equivalent qualifications which are recognized by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency
