Course Description

The Diploma in Automotive Engineering is a specialised branch of Mechanical Engineering, covering the areas of automotive engines, transmission, suspension, braking systems, electrical and electronics, comfort and safety, automotive workshop technology and management. Graduates of this programme are expected to be involved in the automotive maintenance and manufacturing sectors. These sectors include design, testing, servicing and manufacturing of a wide range of vehicles such as private or public transportation, and light or heavy vehicles. The market for specialists in the field of automotive engineering in Malaysia has grown rapidly due to the expansion in the automotive sector led by Proton, Perodua, DRB Hicom and foreign automobile companies in Malaysia. Many automotive component companies are being established to support these manufacturing plants to serve as their supply chain. The high performance vehicle sector has also found its way in Malaysia with the involvement of Petronas and Proton Lotus that requires specialists in the automotive engineering sector.

Automotive Braking System, Automotive Electrical and Electronics 1, Automotive Electrical and Electronics 2, Automotive Engine 2, Automotive Fuel System Dynamics, Automotive Ignition System, Automotive Transmission System, Mathematics 3, Pengajian Malaysia (Malaysian Studies), Strength and Machine Laboratory, Strength of Materials, Thermofluid, Thermofluid Laboratory

Entry Requirements
SPM Min. 3Cs (including Math & Science subjects)
O-Level Min. 3Cs (including Math & Science)
UEC Min. 3Bs(including Math & Science)
Certificate/SKM III Min. CGPA 2.00 with a credit in any subject and a pass in Math at SPM level
SAM/HSC/AUSMAT TER/UAI: Avg. 50% or higher in 5 subjects (Including Math)
CPU/CIMP Avg. 50% or higher in 6 subjects (Including Math)
