Course Description

Information is the nvel international currency, it enables individuals to make, well-informed judgements; provides business with its competitive advantage, and makes the opportunity to develop fresh knowledge and ideas. The demand for highly-skilled knolwedge workers to process, manipulate and evaluate the fast growing hill of information has never been better.

Hence, a new genre of manpower / managers is required to harness the awesome capabilities of information Technology and to tap the potential of this tool to its maximum. In this context, the Bachelor of Information Technology will provide the essential skills to the students, to take their career as knowledge workers in the information technology industry.

English Module

Bachelor’s students are required to take an additional four (4) English modules. These modules are equipped to help bridge the gap for the students to comprehend and express themselves in speaking and writing.

They are specifically designed to meet the English Language learning needs of students. Students will be given a grade only and will not be counted in the Grade Point Average (GPA) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).

Entry Requirements
  1. PASS STPM OR EQUIVALENT WITH MINIMUM GRADE C (CGPA OF 2.00) IN TWO (2) SUBJECTS; AND CREDIT IN MATHEMATICS AT SPM LEVEL OR EQUIVALENT; OR
  2. PASS STAM WITH MINIMUM JAYYID; AND CREDIT IN MATHEMATICS AT SPM LEVEL OR EQUIVALENT; OR
  3. PASS MATRICULATION / FOUNDATION WITH MINIMUM CGPA OF 2.00 AND CREDIT IN MATHEMATICS AT SPM LEVEL OR EQUIVALENT; OR
  4. PASS UNIFIED EXAMINATION CERTIFICATE (UEC) WITH MINIMUM GRADE B IN FIVE (5) SUBJECTS INCLUDING MATHEMATICS; OR
  5. POSSESS A DIPLOMA IN COMPUTER SCIENCE OF SOFTWARE ENGINEERING OR INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY OR INFORMATION SYSTEM OR EQUIVALENT WITH MINIMUM CGPA OF 2.50 AND CREDIT IN MATHEMATICS AT SPM LEVEL; OR
  6. ANY OTHER DIPLOMA IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY OR BUSINESS STUDIES WITH MINIMUM CGPA OF 2.50 MAY BE ADMITTED SUBJECT TO A RIGOROUS INTERNAL ASSESSMENT PROCESS AND CREDIT IN MATHEMATICS AT SPM LEVEL OR EQUIVALENT; OR
  7. FULFIL OTHER REQUIREMENTS THAT ARE RECOGNISED BY THE MALAYSIAN GOVERNMENT. DIPLOMA CANDIDATES WITH CGPA BELOW 2.50 BUT ABOVE 2.00 MAY BE ADMITTED SUBJECT TO A RIGOROUS INTERNAL ASSESSMENT PROCESS WITH CREDIT IN MATHEMATICS AT SPM LEVEL.

NOTE: THE CONDITION OF CREDIT IN MATHEMATICS AT SPM LEVEL CAN BE EXEMPTED FOR CANDIDATE IN CATEGORY (I), (II), (III), (IV), (V) OR (VI) IF THE SAID QUALIFICATIONS CONTAINS MATHEMATICS SUBJECT AND THE RESULT IS EQUIVALENT / HIGHER THAN THE CREDIT REQUIREMENT AT SPM LEVEL. CANDIDATES WITH CREDIT IN COMPUTING RELATED SUBJECT AT SPM OR STPM LEVEL OR ITS EQUIVALENT MAY BE GIVEN PREFERENTIAL CONSIDERATION.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: PASS INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH LANGUAGE TESTING SYSTEM (IELTS) WITH A MINIMUM SCORE OF 5.0; OR PASS TEST OF ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE (TOEFL) WITH A MINIMUM SCORE OF 500; OR OTHER EQUIVALENT QUALIFICATIONS.
